Ten Copywriting Hints and Tips for Your Ethical Business
Want your copy to wow your vegan audience?
Copywriting is one of the most critical elements of marketing and advertising your ethical business successfully, but it can also be one of the hardest elements to get right.
We’ve put together our top ten copywriting hints and tips for ethical businesses, which we hope will help you to feel copy-confident, especially if you write your own copy.
What is copywriting?
The Oxford Dictionary defines copywriting as “the activity or occupation of writing the text of advertisements or publicity material”.
The “copy” relates to the words you use to represent your business to motivate people to act in a certain way after they have read or heard them.
If you want people to sign up for your mailing list, support a cause, buy from you or follow your organisation on social media, your copy should inspire people to do these things and more.
How copywriting and content writing differ
Copywriting and content writing are two types of writing that serve different purposes in your business.
Copywriting relates to words created to persuade and sell (advertising, website pages, emails and other marketing collateral, calls to action, headlines). In contrast, content writing relates to providing information and building a relationship with the audience (blogs, ebooks, white papers).
Ideally, your copy and content should both feel like they share the same voice.
