More about Designing with Plants
I'm a vegan who runs a business counteracting some of the damage caused by animal agriculture alongside many other causes. I design/build wildlife-friendly gardens containing wildflower meadows, woodland-style planting, naturalistic ponds, streams, waterfalls.
I provide solutions for gardens that not only protect the environment and animals but at the same time solve very important issues. Most people love gardens or wildlife but are too busy or have little plant knowledge or feel wildlife gardens are untidy. I design and build gardens that solve these problems. In the UK 97% of wildflower meadows have been destroyed to make way for farmland which has obviously had a devastating impact on the environment. My website explains in more detail.

What was the motivation behind your brand, business or organisation? What did you want to change in the world?
The motivation for my business is to counteract the damage caused by animal agriculture and building over the last hundred or so years. We have destroyed 98% of our wildflower meadows and woodlands. Wildflower meadows and woodlands provide food and homes for pollinators and animals, at the same time as improving soil profiles and preventing climate change. Plants are truly amazing!.
What one thing about your brand, business or organisation would most surprise us, or is not known outside of your team?
The one thing which surprises most people is how tidy and low maintenance wildflowers can be. They only need cutting once a year, compare this to conventional lawns or beds and borders which need cutting or weeding sometimes once a week. This makes wildflowers very appealing and you don't need a meadow to plant wildflowers, you can plant wildflowers in planters around restaurants or in window boxes.
If your brand, business or organisation could be granted one wish, what would you wish for?
If my project could be granted one wish it would be to cover all towns and cities with wildflowers, trees, streams, ponds and woodlands, instead of grass or concrete.
Is there anything else that you would like to share with us about your brand business or organisation?
Wildflowers like poor soil and survive in shade or droughts conditions. If you have a difficult piece of land then wildflowers are the answer.
Wildflowers reward you year after year.
