What was the motivation behind your brand, business or organisation? What did you want to change in the world?
The Rising Space is an ethical art and wellness studio, offering artisan wall decor and nourishing gatherings. This unique fusion of creativity and meditative practices is designed to bring balance to ourselves and our living spaces. Each artwork evokes a message about connection, self-care and environmental protection. My ethos is to produce work with a low carbon footprint by printing in the UK and using locally sourced recyclable materials & compostable packaging. Being a vegan, I only use plant-based and ethical products for meditation circles and cacao ceremonies. My intention is to offer mindful artworks and spaces to encourage reflection and slow living in a fast-paced world.
Who is the team behind your brand, business or organisation?
I am the founder and visual artist behind The Rising Space. Right now, it’s just me, but who knows, I may be looking to expand at some point.
What one thing about your brand, business or organisation would most surprise us, or is not known outside of your team?
My business was born from my own journey through self-discovery and healing. My lived experiences with grief and dealing with the injustices our planet and its animals face, has propelled me to found my business on sustainable practices and share visual messages about the importance of preserving and respecting our natural kingdom. This has helped me heal some of my own wounds. I also donate a portion of my profits to support charities every month.
If your brand, business or organisation could be granted one wish, what would you wish for?
To collaborate with environmental and animal charities. I can see myself producing artworks for campaigns to raise awareness.
Is there anything else that you would like to share with us about your brand, business or organisation?
Artworks and home décor can be produced responsibly and with intention. My platform allows me to share my vision and ethical production methods, which I hope is an example of how to create ethically, so we can move away from a disposable culture. In addition, we don’t always need to see devastation and despairing images to seek environmental and animal welfare change. I want to paint a more hopeful future that shines a light on the joy and importance of our natural world, which I hope encourages others to think similarly.
